Why UK farmers use it
Grazing groups across the UK have proven the value of measuring grass weekly, but the practical barrier is still the time and kit involved.
With Pasture Ai the measurement happens as you walk. Each photo saves an assessment against the paddock with date and location, so records build without a separate data-entry step.
The Farm Walk plan turns those records into a wedge, a daily growth rate and a PDF report — useful for grazing groups, farm assurance and planning surplus paddocks out for silage.

Frequently asked questions
Does it work on herbal leys and permanent pasture?
Yes. The assessment is based on what the photo shows rather than an assumed species mix, so diverse leys and older permanent pasture are handled. Self-calibration lets you tune results to your own swards over time.
Does Pasture Ai work on UK farms?
Yes. Pasture Ai works anywhere you have a phone. The model reads sward height, density, colour and structure from the photo itself, so it is not tied to one country's pasture type.
Do I need a plate meter or any hardware?
No. A smartphone is the only device required. There is no plate meter, no C-Dax, no sensors and no calibration equipment to buy or maintain.
What does it measure?
Pasture cover in kgDM/ha, plus DM%, CP% (protein), MJME and NDF% for feed quality. Every assessment is saved against the paddock with the date and location.
Can I do a whole farm walk?
Yes. Assess each paddock in turn and the Farm Walk plan builds a feed wedge, calculates daily pasture growth rate in kgDM/ha/day and produces a PDF report.
